Here at Turner Brothers Real Estate, we pride ourselves on a welcoming workplace environment and a deep appreciation for the people who help us achieve our goals. At random draw, this month’s employee spotlight goes to our Marketing Manager Nick Humes!

When you’re at work, how do you stay motivated?

NH:

“One of my favorite things about working at Turner Brothers is that I never lose motivation. I’m always motivated by the next big thing we’re doing, the next project. There’s a lot of moving parts and it’s like a fun puzzle that I get to try and solve everyday.”

What do you do at TBRE?

NH:

“I’m the Marketing Manager at TBRE and I get to create marketing strategies for Turner Brothers Real Estate as well as some of their properties like Union Hall and TNT Stables, which is now accepting appointments for riding lessons by the way.”

So far, what’s been your favorite project?

NH:

“I’m pretty new here but, so far, I’d say my favorite thing I’ve done, I don’t know if it’s really a project but I guess you could call it that, was the time I got to go to Temple for the Imagine the Possibilities Tour. TBRE was there because we’re doing the Hawn/Arcadia/Sears redevelopment project and we got to set up our tent and talk to all of the lovely people from Temple. We got to answer questions that the locals had about the project and got to sort of share updates and general information about it as well. I had never done anything like that before so it was a lot of fun. Just getting to know a bunch of new people and getting to share this exciting news with everybody.”

What’s something about you most people don’t know?

NH:

“I’m pretty much an open book. I know people say that but I really am. Something people maybe wouldn’t know right away when they meet me is that I’m not just interested in digital art, using programs like Photoshop and Illustrator. I also like to paint and create things that are physical as opposed to just digital. I do a lot of painting in my spare time and even some sculpting as well. Right now I’m actually making a sculpture of my dog, Max.”

Where is your favorite destination you’ve visited, and why?

NH:

“My favorite place to go in Waco is this gaming store in the Richland Mall. It’s a cool spot and in my hometown, we never had any locally-owned game stores like that. The people who work there are all really nice and they give you great deals on trade-ins and things like that. Sort of nerdy but there you go. Everyone’s gotta have a hobby. In general, I love any Firehouse Subs so there’s a favorite destination for you.”

What’s something you can’t live without?

NH:

“My wife.”

What’s your favorite pastime?

NH:

“I love watching TV with my wife and spending all of her money.”
